Brass and Woodwind Repairs

The Tom Lee Band Instrument Repair facilities are located in house at our Granville location. Our Band Instrument Repair technicians are able to service all brass and woodwind instruments, and provide expert and cost effective service to our institutional clients, students and professional musicians from across the country. Our repair shop is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 6 pm

 

Services range from scheduled maintenance to a complete overhaul. Each job will be done in accordance to a quote provided by our technicians before the job is carried out. Howard Lee - Head Band Instrument Repair Technician

Head Repair Technician, Howard Lee, has over 10 years experience repairing musical instruments. In 2006, he graduated "with distinction" and as Class Valedictorian from Keyano College where he apprenticed under Master Technician, Michael Durocher.
His clients include musicians from the Little Mountain Brass Band, 15th Field Regimental Band, University of Victoria, University of British Columbia, Douglas College, Vancouver Opera and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. 

He currently plays bassoon with the Richmond Concert Band and flute with the Windsor Flutes.

 

Howard is a certified Jupiter Instrument repair technician, certified Yamaha Wind Instrument repair technician and is a member of NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Instrument Repair Technicians).

 

Elizabeth Mee - Woodwind Instrument Repair Technician

Originally from Naples, Florida, woodwind repair technician and bassoonist Elizabeth Mee lives in Vancouver, BC. She received her Master of Music at McGill University and Bachelor of Music at New England Conservatory.  Elizabeth has played extensively in professional orchestras in the Boston area.  She now freelances in Vancouver. Elizabeth has performed with numerous ensembles including the Vancouver Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Turning Point Ensemble, Kamloops Symphony, Vancouver Island Symphony, Okanagan Symphony and Ventos Wind Quintet.

 

After moving to Vancouver, Elizabeth began training to become a band repair technician, apprenticing with Howard Lee.  Elizabeth is passionate about creating the best musical experience for young musicians by ensuring their instruments work optimally.

 

In addition to repairing instruments locally, Elizabeth is a MusAid Repair Fellow; teaching repair and fixing instruments in Belize.
MusAid supports musical institutions in developing countries around the world with donated instruments and volunteer teaching programs.

 

Elizabeth loves birds, running and hiking.
