The Vancouver Art Gallery recently celebrated their major summer exhibition, “Of Heaven and Earth”, which honours five hundred years of Italian paintings from Glasgow Museums, at their opening gala. The Steinway piano, rich with history itself, added a very fitting touch to the evening.

A four-course dinner was prepared by celebrity chef Umberto Menghi, which was served with wine from the Okanagan Valley’s Mission Hill Family Estate. There were both live and silent auctions, a fashion show featuring Max Mara’s Fall-Winter 2015/2016 designs, and of course, elegant musical melodies played by pianist Trevor Hoffmann, our Vice President, Graham Blank, and the very talented Vivace music group. We provided two Steinway pianos for this gala, one of which was the dazzling Steinway Silver Pops.

The “Of Heaven and Earth” exhibit, which examines the thematic and stylish developments in Italian art-from the religious paintings of the late Middle Ages and Renaissance to the secular neoclassical and genre paintings of the 19th century, is now open until October 4th.
