Elton John’s Las Vegas revue "Million Dollar Piano" is heading to big screens across the globe this week, and a local company is at the center of it.

Chris Gero, founder of Franklin-based Yamaha Entertainment Group, directed and produced the two-hour movie, which will open in 40 countries on March 18. The movie is the culmination of more than four years of work by Yamaha Entertainment Group, which helped create the state-of-the-art million-dollar piano that John plays.

“We were filming everything, from early meetings with Elton to the very first show,” said Gero. “Because it was so special and a one-off, we wanted to make sure we captured the uniqueness of this.”

This week marks the first time the Arabesque is being seen by the public in New York.

Who would have guessed that they would do it?!! Because of their win, I knew I just had to keep up my end of the bargain! Who would have known that you were actually able to pull it off for us!

Just short of two years ago, I suffered a burst cerebral aneurysm and was air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital where they performed an emergency craniotomy surgery. After three weeks in neuro ICU, they say it is a miracle that I am still here, but I believe the real miracle will be if I can learn how to play this piano!! We will just see how many brain cells I actually have left! LOL!! With that, and losing all the hearing in my left ear, I thought I'd best hurry up and make these dreams come true while I still can.

I’d like to think that the day I stop learning is the day I die!
